THE TORY'S CONSOLATION ON CORNWALLIS'S PRESERVATION THROUGH
JOE'S NEGOTIATION.
Joe's wonderful deeds far surpasses all story,
Whilst rowing o'er Styx, he made Charon a Tory;
His drollery so great while he staid in the boat,
The whole crew crack'd their sides, the old man split his
throat.
He sung numerous songs, told queer stories of Whigs,
Cut capers, danc'd hornpipes, rigadoons, and brisk jigs.
